If the need hasn't arisen for you so far, you may never have asked yourself about reasonable grounds for cutting down a tree.
The benefits of arboreal plants are so many that we sometimes tend to underestimate them: purifiers of the air we breathe, cooling devices in the scorching heat of summer, erosion control measures or as windbreaks, screens for privacy between neighbours, sources of relaxation, places for birds to frolic, magnificent centrepieces of landscaped masterpieces that brighten our lives... It is impossible to enumerate them all.
That is why it would not be permissible to cut down trees on the slightest pretext. But then, when is it justified to take this ultimate step? It is useful to outline some of the legitimate reasons for doing so.
Dead tree
Perhaps the most obvious situation is when a tree has dried up, emptied of all life. It must not be abandoned. Indeed, its felling is then urgent, because this condition makes it very fragile, and if one of its branches or itself were to fall, the result could be an unfortunate, even fatal, outcome. It is simply a matter of safety and common sense. Another not insignificant point: if you wait, insects and fungi could well arrive in large numbers, ready to bother you at will.
Uprooted trees
What does the future hold for the trees uprooted by the unleashing of an unbridled storm? Unless you know how to use a crystal ball, no one knows. Very often, cutting down trees is unfortunately the only way to go. If something can be done, we will be able to tell you.
Trees affected by the disease
You may not be aware that when disease attacks a tree, it does not necessarily mean that it must be felled. An examination is in fact necessary to determine the seriousness of the attack. Sometimes pruning can save the day. If the damage is too severe, felling may still be the only option. If you call us at the first suspicious clues, the inevitable could be foiled. That's why it's important to intervene early. So hurry up and call us at 819-809-6042. We'll let you know what other possibilities are available if need be.
Storm-damaged trees
Some storms are another situation where the question arises as to whether a tree needs to be felled. Sometimes an imbalance can be corrected by skillful guying. There are, however, circumstances that lead to the inevitable, so it is important to contact us to have the situation assessed.
Tree in the wrong place
Whether you are a new buyer or an old one with a brand new project, perhaps you have a wish, such as installing a garden pavilion or something else, but you really want to do it. Anyway, there is this tree, a beautiful oak tree that you like the same way, which had the idea to grow exactly there and not elsewhere. And that's where you want your gazebo. How do you decide?
Stop going around in circles and not knowing where to start! We can help you. Sometimes the best of both worlds is possible. A pruning or trimming could make an acceptable compromise and allow you to save your tree and get your idea done. We can be reached at 819-809-6042. If there is a way to save your oak, we will know what it is.
Trees that compete with each other
Sometimes trees love each other - or hate each other? - to the point where their branches become more or less inextricably entangled. Sometimes this can be so important that it's appropriate to choose a tree to cut down. The decision may be easy when one is younger or has better ornamental qualities than the other, or if one is more seriously weakened. Except that most of the time the choice is not an easy one. Our knowledge of the subject will be able to break the most stubborn deadlocks if it is conceivable to do so.
The aftermath of cutting down a tree
After having tried everything, sometimes the undesirable has been accomplished: a tree has been felled, and you are harvesting from a mound of wood that you had absolutely not foreseen. In this case, we offer shredding. Some logs would be useful if you have a wood stove. But if you really don't see any reason to bother with shredded wood chips, no problem, we'll get rid of them for you! Tree trimming
